“turn off the lights and I’ll glow”

I was diagnosed with Grave’s disease this past spring. This week I’ve undergone treatment for this with radioactive iodine. The whole process has been fairly painless, other than a sore throat and a little upset stomach I’ve felt pretty good. The bad part is I’ve been quarantined to my house and Grace has been with Grandma and Grandpa all week. I haven’t seen her since Monday afternoon and I’m going crazy! I’m counting down until Sunday when I can see her again.

I found some pictures on my camera that I hadn’t downloaded. The first are from when Aunt Carli came to visit. Molly and Katie were looking out the front door and Grace had to see what the fuss was about.

2 weeks ago Aunt Kelsie was down visiting while my cousin Mark was in the hospital (he is still there but is slowly getting better). We took Grace swimming in the back yard since it was hot.

(because ever little girl needs their own beach chair complete with attached umbrella!) Also, I think it’s time to retire that swimsuit and move on up a size! We had a lot of belly shots!

Blog slacker

I’ve been slacking on posting here. Grace and I had my friends Dan and Lisa over for a BBQ and then some swimming (well at least Grace), then we went to my parents for the 4th. Since then we’ve been hanging out and I’ve been working. *On a personal note* I won’t go into detail, but Todd and my divorce was final this past Thursday. Everything went smoothly thankfully. Thanks for all the prayers.

Big Week!

We had a busy week this week.  Mom and Dad came back from Spain and so we drove up for a day to go see them. Mom said she couldn’t resist buying Grace’s Halloween costume a little early…

And yes, it comes with a matching Spanish fan and castanets! (I will admit it’s pretty cute!)  All in all it was good to see them even if the trip was a short one.

Then on Tuesday, Lori came to Columbus to visit. Grace napped a little early so we were able to head to Easton for the afternoon.  Grace did wonderful. She wanted to walk most of Easton. She even helped push the stroller. I’m not sure who was more tired at the end of the day, me or her!  Here we are on a little snack break. Who can resist graham crackers!

Then today we met Erin and Madison at COSI for the morning.  The girls loved playing in the water table and climbing in the tree house.

This evening Grace and I were playing in the family room and I thought I heard Katie whining. I realized it had been awhile since she had been around so Grace and I went looking for her. We looked everywhere and couldn’t find her.  Until we went into the bathroom and found this

I have no idea HOW or WHY she was in the bathtub but she was stuck. Grace thought it was great and laughed a lot at Katie. What a silly dog….and little girl!  Have a happy 4th of July weekend everyone!

Summer time!

Last weekend we went to Massillon to visit our friends the Caudill’s and go to their daughter Reagan’s first birthday party. Somehow in the heat and chasing Grace I did not take a single picture. Oops. Then on Sunday we hung out with Carli and Jeremy. Grace loved having other people to play with (including Molly).

 

This week we have enjoying playing and walking with our friends Madison and Erin Yoh. Then today we went to COSI for the first time since it was So Hot outside. They have a section dedicated to younger kids. There was a neat water table that had seats that she could sit in. There were lots of activities for her to explore. We ended up purchasing a season pass so I’m sure there will be many more fun days there.

After we got home it was still hot outside. So Grace went swimming in her pool. We decided swim suits were optional though so she got to go in her birthday suit! (I hopefully censored all the pictures!)

Pool time!

It’s been so hot! I have a blow-up pool for Grace but it’s a pain to blow up since I don’t have a pump. So, today I was at Marc’s and they had these plastic pools for cheap. We filled it up and Grace had a ball.

We’ve also been having fun around town. We met our friend Tracy for lunch and went to the new Columbus Commons. They had a carousel and of course we had to ride it.

 

 

Grace has been super active recently. She has been consistently taking 6-8 steps at a time. The last few days she’s been really interested in her walker that she got for her birthday.  I think she’ll be walking on her own soon!
