Baby it’s cold outside

Grace is getting so big. She loved “helping”me with my leaves in the background. She soon realized that she could jump in the piles and was fearless going from pile to pile! She also loved looking through the railing and exclaiming “I see you!” to me. Her recent thing is to “cower"with her crayons. She loves to have one in each hand. So far she’s been pretty evenly favoring each hand so it’s hard to tell if she will take after her Grandpa and be a lefty- although she tends to eat left handed an awful lot.

Grace loved to help me decorate for Christmas. For every decoration that I would put up- she would help and take it down! She soon found some large Christmas bells and she loved carrying them around the house.

I was able to put up the Christmas tree last night and decorated it after Grace went to bed. We were rushing this morning and I ushered her out the door quickly so the first time she was able to see the tree was this evening. She came in the door and immediately rushed over to it. “ooooooh, Pretty!!” she exclaimed over and over and over. These pictures are her first reactions.

Go Bucks!

IMG_1567 IMG_1572
Hello? Coach? Put me in! I'm ready!

Grace has started taking an interest in going “potty”. I don’t think she quite gets the concept as today she kept sitting on it fully clothed but she is now telling me when she needs her diaper changed. I’m not going to discourage her but I’m not thinking she’ll be potty trained anytime soon either! Until then, she loves to sit on the potty frequently throughout the day. Of course she likes to stand in the potty as well. Silly girl.

Happy Halloween!!

Grace has quite the active social life and had 3 separate Halloween parties! We started last week with trick-or-treat at my work. They decorated the conference room and had snacks and then the kids went door to door at the patient’s rooms. It was too sweet!

Then this morning she had a Halloween party at her babysitter Heather’s house. They played pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern, did a craft and then decorated and ate cupcakes!

Then this evening we headed to my friend Katie’s house to go trick-or-treating. Grace had a great time going door to door with Mason the dragon and even held up her bucket for candy and signed (and sometimes said) thank you.  She and Mason then took over candy duty. I think they had more fun handing out the candy then getting it!

*Grace was a flamenco dancer in an outfit direct from Spain thanks to Mom and Dad and their trip in June. She even said Ole when prompted. I couldn’t get her to carry the fan or castanets however.

We’re still here

I’ve been absent from blogging and I apologize. Somehow days go by and I realize I haven’t posted anything for a long time! Here are a few pictures to try to play catch up.  Grace is ornerier than ever. She was tormenting Katie in this picture. Chasing her around the room and then playing “mommy” with her seahorse. We had to tuck in her seahorse over and over. Katie was not amused!

The other morning she insisted on wearing her shoes. Even though she had footie pajamas on! She was so proud of her shoes. She kept saying shoes over and over and then picking up her feet and showing them off.

Grace’s new favorite toy is an old headset and the other receiver of her monitor. She drags them around the house for quite awhile! Who needs expensive new toys when you have these!

Two weekends ago we went to Dalton for Grandpa Gerber’s 90th birthday! Grace had a great time coloring with Grandpa. Then she was ready to cheer on the Buckeyes. O-H-I-O!

Grace loves to read. She sits either on my lap or on her stool and reads her books. The stool was supposed to be for her time-outs but Grace enjoys it. So much for that idea! She carries the stool around the family room and looks at her books.
