Happy 2nd Birthday Grace!

I had to work the weekend of the 14th so we celebrated Grace’s birthday this past Saturday.  The day, however, started off with a “Very Hungry Caterpillar” shower for Carli.  If I do say so myself the shower was a huge success.  We were able to surprise Carli with her friend Rachel showing up for the shower.  The theme was pretty cute. Mom made these awesome caterpillar table decorations, the food was to die for (thanks Aunts!) and the cake was A-dor-able! All in all it was a great time.

Grace went home for a quick nap then it was party #2 time! Everyone came over for some cake and snacks.

And just like that, my baby is 2 years old!! Happy Birthday to my big girl!

It’s been awhile

The first week in April we got to go with Mom and Dad to Hilton Head SC. Grace had her first airplane ride which went surprisingly well and we made it there in one piece. We enjoyed our week, lots of playing in the waves and good food. I celebrated my 2nd 29th birthday by relaxing. All in all it was a good week.  Then it was back to work for me and Grace spent Easter with her Dad. 

Because I had to work on Grace’s 2nd birthday we will be celebrating with family this upcoming weekend. Grace and I went to the Columbus Zoo today for our little celebration. The weather was threatening rain which was perfect because the zoo was almost empty. It never did rain and we had a great day. We went to the petting zoo, saw the polar bears, monkeys and the fish. Grace’s favorite part was riding the train. I can’t believe my baby is 2 years old. Where did the time go?

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!

We celebrated by going out to breakfast at First Watch (mmm, french toast!) and then enjoying the beautiful day. We blew bubbles, drew with sidewalk chalk and took a long walk. It was a great day.

Grace has been really interested in babies recently. She carries around at least one if not all 3 of her babies and feeds them and “shh’s” them. She spends a lot of time tucking them in and wrapping them up. It’s so cute.

Friends, Zoo Day and COSI

We've been super busy and having lots of fun the last few weeks!

Last Wednesday Grace (and I) went to play with Madison (and her mommy Erin). We had dinner, they played and then the girls took a bath together so Erin could get some stuff done with baby Ellie. Both girls are in the “mine” stage. They had a hilarious exchange at dinner each saying “that’s my plate” and “mine” when in reality they both had the very same plate and food. Oh 2 year olds!

Then on Saturday we met my friends from college Sydney and Kevin Caudill and their two daughter Aubrey and Reagan at COSI. We had a great time playing and then went out to lunch at Jason’s Deli. It was great to catch up - all of our girls are growing up so fast!

Then today we went to Westerville Christian Church for their Zoo day. We went with Erin and Madison. They had a breakfast then the Columbus Zoo brought 7 different animals for the kids to see- a penguin, dingo, bearcat, armadillo, lynx, tortoise and a fox. Then at the end the kids could go pet the dingo, armadillo and tortoise. It was neat watching the girls faces as they saw the animals. They did so good sitting still through the program as well.
