Little ham

Grace used to hide from the camera but recently she’s started hamming it up when the camera comes out.  She will laugh this funny laugh (almost a cackle) as soon as she thinks you’re going to take her picture. It’s hilarious! Tonight she was cracking up in her bouncy seat…

She’s been doing really well with trying new foods.  She has Green beans, prunes and carrots down.  We’re starting corn tomorrow.  Here she is thoroughly enjoying her carrots!

 

Grace has had a cold since Saturday.  She’s had a runny nose and the saddest little cough. Between that and the weather being on the cool side we’ve been “hiding” in the house the last couple of days.  Hopefully she’ll start to feel better soon.

5 month pictures!

I know they are a week late but time flies! Here she is at 5 months…such a stinker!

 

       

A day of firsts (and a 5 month birthday!)

We had a big day today! Grace and I had our first We Joy Sing class.  This is a music class that is aimed at different age groups.  Grace’s class is for 1-12 month old babies.  The class today consisted of 4 other little ones ages 6-8 months. We had a great time singing, dancing, and playing with musical instruments.  Grace was a little skeptical at first but by the end was singing along. (Seriously, she was!).  We will go every tuesday for the next few months. It should be lots of fun!

Then we ran some errands and got ready for a dinner with Lisa. It’s great that she’s close enough that we can get together on a week night.  It’s sooo nice to have her so close! The big accomplishment of the day though was Grace’s first attempt at baby food.  We started with green beans

At first she wasn't so sure… But after a few spoonfuls she started to warm up to the idea, and by the end of the meal…

she decided they weren’t that bad!

Time flies

When you’re having fun! Last weekend I had to work Friday and Saturday night so Todd had Grace.  He left to go to Salt Fork to be with John and Janice while I worked, then Sunday I drove to Salt Fork and picked up Grace to head to Dalton.  On the way I stopped to see Grandma and Grandpa Gerber then to my parent’s house.  Mom had 2 of her college friends over for the weekend and it was great to see them.  I go to introduce Grace to Jane for the first time and that was fun.  Monday we went to the Dari-ette for lunch and while there Grace played in the pumpkins!

We came back to Columbus on Tuesday just in time for me to work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  Then Friday, Grace came with me for the first time to the Grocery store.  She loved the card we used because she was up high and could see out.  We sang and danced through the store and she giggled through most of it.  I’m sure the other shoppers thought I was crazy, but Grace thought I was funny and that’s all that matters! This morning we had fun playing in her exersaucer and modeling her OSU gear…

Grace was practicing her OH-IO! We’ll have it down before you know it!! In the afternoon we headed to the Kirby household for a great party.  There was wonderful food (thanks Kathleen!) and lots of kids for Grace to watch.  It was nice to go out of the house and be with friends.  It’s fun how the group is changing and now our get togethers center around kids.  After we got home and Grace was in her jammies Todd was swinging her around and making her laugh.  It was too cute! I couldn’t put my hands on the video camera right away- but I did get some cute pictures…
