Happenings in Columbus

Grace was a little under the weather last weekend. She had an ear infection (AGAIN!) and this time I definitely knew it as she had drainage out of her ears. It was gross- and this is coming from a nurse who deals with gross things at work all the time. Needles to say she was not a happy baby. And poor thing, even when she wasn’t feeling well I was snapping pictures.

And then we had full blown meltdown…

I’ve had some people ask me if I’m still using cloth diapers and the answer is kind of! I’m a part time cloth diaperer. I put them on her when we are at home but if I’m going out when I think I might have to change her I put on a disposable. It’s a little easier than carting around a soiled diaper. I do still love using them at home and on short trips. I have some pictures of Grace before her bath the other night. She was rockin’ the cloth diaper that day.

She’s also started moving. Not crawling, but scooting on her bottom across the floor. The other day I left the room for just a little bit and she had worked herself all across the family room floor. By the time I came back she had wedged herself behind my big chair and was peeking around it. I guess it’s about time I baby proof my house.

She’s getting into more and more. I was sorting through her clothes weeding out those that were too small for her. I folded the first bunch and stacked them neatly. I went to pull out some more, turned around and saw this…

10 months old!

10 months old! She was hamming it up taking these pictures. I tried to get some video but she was more interested in watching herself on the flip then letting me film.

I’ve had several people ask about the month onesies. They stickers that you can put on a onesie from the website pickysticky.com. I’ve loved doing her pictures every month and it is so fun to look back and how much she has grown.

My Valentine

Grace is all decked out in her Valentine’s day outfit and I’m ready to go out to dinner with my good friend Lisa. We went out to a great Irish restaurant and had a wonderful time.

And a Valentine’s outfit isn’t a Valentine’s outfit without heart barrettes!

Pancakes and milk

Look at my big girl! Here she is eating pancakes and drinking a little milk in her sippy cup.

Tubes!

Grace had her tubes placed last week. Of course it was scheduled on the day of the big ice storm in Columbus. Mom came down to help and we had to be to the surgery center at 6:30am. We went to leave and couldn’t get off the front porch. The ice was coating everything. I finally slid down and had mom hand Grace to me. We managed to chip off the ice and made it to the place without any incident. Here is Grace in her little baby gown getting ready for the surgery.

 

Everything went well. She did great and was entertaining all the nurses. They said that most babies come out of the anesthesia screaming, but Grace was talking and kicking her legs. What a good baby!

Now that Grace has the tubes she can’t get soapy water in her ears, so she gets cotton balls in her ears during bath time. She doesn’t seem to mind them.

The other night I went to check on her after she went to bed and found her like this:

She fell asleep with her feet propped on the side of her crib!
