Random cuteness

Just 2 random pictures. I realized that I never posted a picture of Grace in her Mother's day breakfast dress (Thanks Sydney and Kevin!). She was pretty cute! I'm also posting a horrible picture of me with her- but I love how it shows her red hair! So ignore my gross self and look at her adorable hair!!

Visitors

This past week has flown by! We've been keeping busy. Last weekend Kelsie came to visit on her way back from Cincinnati and she was met by my mom. It was nice once again to have some extra sets of hands. Then I headed to Dalton to get Grace's pictures taken. They are going to be adorable! Now this weekend my college friend Lisa is visiting. It's been nice to see everyone and it helps my days go by easier. I'm able to actually get a shower every now and then!

Grace's reflux seems to be doing a little better, however she still needs to sleep at an incline and spits up a lot. Her eczema is also still there, but seems to be doing a little better. She's still up about every 3 hours during the night which is making me tired, however every now and then I'll get a stretch of 4 hours which is nice!

Aren't I cute?!

1 month old!

Grace is one month old already! We had our weight recheck today and she is up to 9lb 13oz! We're still having problems with reflux but we're working on it and trying new things every day to see what helps. Hopefully we'll get it figured out soon. I tried taking pictures of her on her one month birthday and she was having none of it...she usually is pretty happy but yesterday she was awfully fussy. You can see how happy she was to have her picture taken! (well, I think the silly hat didn't help either!)

Busy weekend!!

We had a very busy weekend. Grace and I traveled to Dalton friday night and stayed until Tuesday evening. Saturday morning was the mother daughter banquet at church and Grace made her Salem Mennonite Church debut. She looked adorable in her yellow dress and slept through the whole thing in her Aunt Carli's arms. Then we had several guests throughout the day. This included a visit by Grace's second cousin Kenna who enjoyed giving Grace kisses on the forehead! too cute!. Sunday, mother's day, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Gerber's house. The picture with Grandpa shows 4 generations. Wow. Then monday we traveled to visit Aunt Susan. It was nice to travel and go out to lunch with Grace. Monday night was wonderful as mom volunteered to take Grace for the night and I was able to get 7 hours of uninterupted sleep. I forgot what good sleep felt like!! We traveled back to columbus tuesday night in the storms.

Wednesday we had Grace's one month checkup. Her weight was off from her last visit so they want us to come back on saturday for a recheck. Also, the zantac has not been working well with her reflux, so they started her on prevacid with the hopes that it will work better. We'll know a little more after saturday, but it seems as though things are going well...

A smile for this dreary day

I'll update from this weekend a little later as Grace is starting to wake up and need fed...but I wanted to post this picture. Hoping it brings a smile on this dreary May day!

3 weeks old...

Hanging out in her boppy

Tired after our walk

Friends Jane and Craig Gudakunst gave us diapers as part of our baby gift- the diapers were "decorated" with phrases...this one was fitting in that we used it the day mom was here! And yes, she really did wait for gramma...a nice full diaper!

This week has flown by... Tuesday my mom came down and I was able to get some errands done and she put in some "grandma" time. Wednesday I was able to go out with a friend to dinner while Todd watched Grace. It was nice to get out of the house by myself - but hard to leave her even for a few hours! Then today we met two work friends and their children at a park. The kids had a great time playing, and Grace and I enjoyed the fresh air (and I enjoyed the adult conversation).

Grace has been taking her Zantac now since monday night. It tastes terrible and she hates taking it but I think it's making a difference. She is still spitting up, but has had less episodes where she seems to be in pain. She has her one month Dr's appointment next wednesday and they will evaluate how things are going then.

oops

So, I'm still getting the hang of this blogging thing...I can't seem to get the pictures show at the bottom of my post- only the top. I'll have to figure this thing out...until then, bear with me!

What a cutie

Grace and Great Grandma McCrea

I took Grace to the doctor today and found out that she has reflux. She had been spitting up more frequently along with some symptoms that made it seem like her belly was hurting. We're starting her on medication this evening that hopefully will at least help with her discomfort if not lessen the spit up. My mom talks about how I was the "spit-up queen" when I was little, so the poor little girl just is following in her mommy's footsteps.

John and Janice and Grandma Bobbie came to visit this sunday. We had a great visit. We went out to lunch at the Winking Lizard and Grace did great- she slept through the whole thing. Jeff was able to meet us at the restaurant as well. It was nice to get out of the house and eat some good food. Grandma Bobbie enjoyed meeting her Great Granddaughter and got some quality loving time in.

This afternoon Grace helped out in the garden. The weather was beautiful and she really enjoyed being in her seat out in the lawn. And of course, it was important that she accessories while outside. I'm also going to attach some pictures of her in her swing. She doesn't seem to know what to make of the swing. She doesn't cry while in it, but she doesn't know if she likes it yet. Only time will tell...
